With the former, creators risk drowning their audiences in clones of a familiar product. Overall this game is fun, challenging, and a worthwhile investment of your time. It’s a perpetual challenge in video games or any type of commercial art: Do you give audiences what they’ve responded to in the past, or do you try to offer them something new? Each road presents potential challenges. The weapon combos are all unique and interesting, and fun to use. Some levels have clear-cut checkpoints where nothing is happening, or right before a boss other levels have no checkpoints at all and if you die you have to do it all over again. There are only like 8 levels in this game, and some of them aren't even a normal platforming level's length. The only other problem I have is with the length of the title. The action in this title is crazy and unending, but it does make the game a lot of fun. There's a ton of enemies and they all have one goal. There's no real tutorial but with 3 buttons it's pretty easy to get a grip on the controls. This Genesis arcade-like action game isn't easy. The only real negatives this game truly have lies in its difficulty, and it's length. a real sleeper soundtrack that should be there with Mario, Zelda, Castlevania, and Mega Man. God, the soundtrack is just unbelievable. It was a fun trip down memory lane to relive my kindergarten days, but I really wanted to give it an official review for it so here it is! Gunstar Heroes is a beautiful game, with an awesome art style, and an amazing OST.
